Your medical examination can be done quickly and conveniently in our office. All tests are done at one location and in one visit. The whole process takes about 90 minutes. Here is what you need to know:

Where to go?
We are located in downtown Vancouver, at 1144 Burrard Street, on the 4th floor. See our location map for more details.

When can I do it?
You can do it almost immediately. We usually have appointments available for the next day. The examinations are done between 9 and 12 in the morning and between 2 and 4 in the afternoon. Usually, there is little or no waiting.

What to bring?
--- Passport
--- 3 passport photos (or you can have them done in our office for $17)
--- Any papers you received from Immigration
--- IMPORTANT: check here if you are being sponsored by a spouse or partner
--- Eyeglasses or contact lenses if you use them
--- List of medications you are taking

What is involved?
The physical examination by the doctor is a general checkup. It does not involve an internal examination and, usually, does not involve a breast examination. A chaperone may be available if a female examinee requests one. The other tests depend on age:

How much does it cost?
The total cost for adults (other than refugees) is $260
This includes all the required tests, paperwork and sending the documentation and X-ray film to Ottawa by express mail. This price may be less, depending on age. For the exact breakdown and other important details see price list.

What languages are spoken in your office?
Dr Ciszak is fluent in English, French, Spanish, Russian and Polish.

What happens after the examination?
We will send your medical report to Ottawa by registered express mail. If any of your tests are abnormal we will let you know before mailing the report. You will receive an answer directly from Immigration. The doctor is not informed about the outcome of your application. If you receive no reply for more than 2 or 3 months, you can call the Medical Branch in Ottawa at 1-888-242-2100 then press -1 -2.

PLEASE DO NOT CALL THAT NUMBER SOONER THAN TWO MONTHS AFTER YOUR EXAMINATION.
